and why I prefer to not rush an order
Typically, the turnaround time for an order to be made and shipped is two weeks. Occasionally, I receive requests for expedited shipping within a few days. Please understand that all of my bows are handmade, and I work on multiple orders simultaneously, which involves several intricate steps in the creation of each Incredibow.

The most common reason for expedited requests is an upcoming performance or music lesson. In these instances, I recommend using your current bow until your Incredibow arrives. Please be aware that requesting a quicker turnaround adds additional pressure to the crafting process, as I personally handle every bow.

Orders are processed in the order they are received, and I prefer not to prioritize one order over another to ensure fairness to all customers, many of whom may also have upcoming performances.

Additionally, please take into account the shipping time that I have noted on my website to allow 4-6 days for shipping.

Is the Incredibow Vegan friendly..
Yes, absolutely. No horsehair is utilized in the making of these bows, nor is any adhesive derived from animal products.
What is the benefit of the High Tension option?
When I make a high tension bow, I utilize a cello stick reinforced internally with a violin stick. This combination results in a straighter shaft and increased tension compared to our standard tensioned bows. A high-tension bow provides enhanced control and reduced bounce on the strings, which is particularly favorable when playing on instruments with more than four strings. Additionally, the high-tension bow option is well-suited for aggressive playing techniques.
The high-tension violin, omni, and viola bows are larger in size relative to our regular tension bows in those catagories and features a correspondingly larger grip. While most of my bows are ordered with standard tension, some customers prefer the high-tension option. The choice largely depends on individual playing style and personal tension preferences. Please note that the high-tension option is available exclusively in medium weight.
Does the Incredibow need rosining?
Yes, all bows need rosin. Without rosin, the bow just slides over the strings and barely makes a sound. Rosin gives the bow enough grip to catch the strings and make them vibrate properly.
What rosin is recommened for the Incredibow?
I carry Cecilia rosin, which is well-suited for the Incredibow; however, any good dark rosin performs effectively on synthetic hair. The Incredibow will require a heavy first application of rosin, with much lighter amounts needed thereafter.

How do you clean the hair on an Incredibow?
Just use Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and a lint free cloth. Moisten the cloth with alcohol and wipe away any dirt or rosin from the hairband. Let it dry completely before adding more rosin.

I'm not happy with the sound the bow makes, why?
It could be your rosin. Different rosins can produce different sounds. Typically, rosin is the culprit when the sound isn't satisfactory. I would try a rosin that is more suited for synthetic hair. Cecilia is good; Hill Dark and Coruss is also recommended.

How long has the Incredibow been around?
The Incredibow was developed around 1999 by my father, Ed Wilcox, and originally marketed through his business, Serenity Mountain, with the help of my step-mother, Carolyn. Although it was first designed for musical saw playing, he soon discovered that it performed exceptionally well on a wide range of stringed instruments—and even certain percussion instruments. Over the years, it has continued to grow in popularity, most recently within the percussion music community.
Following the passing of my father and step-mother in 2008, I took over the business and have continued producing the Incredibow under the name E.W. Incredibow Co.
Why do you not post much on your Facebook page?
Because I am a social media wallflower. I don’t post on Facebook very often—I’m naturally a quiet person and never quite know what to share. I tend to stay focused on making bows in my workshop, but I’m always available if you message me directly.
Do you sell to other countries?
Yes, I ship the Incredibow worldwide. Please be aware that customs fees or taxes may apply, and these charges are the buyer’s responsibility. I am not able to determine or estimate these fees in advance. As of November 2025, I have not received customer feedback regarding any tariff charges.
Do you have a storefront?
No, I do not currently operate a physical storefront. I handcraft each bow in my workshop and sell directly through the website. I stay very busy and enjoy the focus and solitude that come with working from my shop.
